- Camping - Camping is traditionally the most cost effective method of accommodation, however, the facilities available to the camping enthusiast vary greatly from site to site. There are still sites that offer only basic facilities but some are now more like holiday parks with restaurants, swimming pools and tennis courts available.
- Caravan Parks - Caravan parks offer several types of accommodation such as somewhere to pitch a tent, a pitch for a touring caravan or motorhome with water and electricity connections and static caravan sites. Facilities available to visitors vary from site to site and can be quite extensive.
- Castles - Living in a castle is a dream few of us can achieve, however, it is possible to be a guest at a castle as some have been converted into luxury hotels and guesthouses. Some castles also offer the opportunity to hold a wedding ceremony at the castle with guest accommodation and catering.

Holiday cottages can be located almost anywhere, in towns, near the beach or in more rural isolation so there’s likely to be one just right for you.
- Hotels - Although most of us don’t holiday at hotels these days they are still very useful when you need accommodation at short notice. Many airports have large hotels on site or nearby and offer the opportunity to break a journey. Many airport hotels now offer overnight stays with secure car parking packages designed for those holidaying abroad.
- Self Catering - Self-catering holidays offer the flexibility of lifestyle to which we have all become accustomed but in new and diverse environments. Choosing self-catering does not mean you have to cook however, as there will always be pubs, restaurants and other eating establishments available in the local area.
- Timeshares - Timeshares are long-term contracts in which you purchase the rights to use a holiday property for a given duration within a specified timeframe. Options are many and varied with regard to frequency of use, fixed or variable dates, single or multiple resort, dependant upon the particular timeshare organisation.
- Villas - Villas, while not common in the UK, are a common type of holiday property on the continent and offer luxurious accommodation for a self-catering holiday. Many have their own private swimming pool and are set in gorgeous surroundings.
